2nd Annual event

Mark your calendars, talk with your friends and plan to attend our 2nd Annual Riders Against Hunger motorcycle charity ride.

This is a signed, three hour poker run covering some of the most scenic roads north of Mississauga. We will start at Eden Community Foodbanks' warehouse on Unity drive. There will be 5 locations where we will have volunteers handing out playing cards. Following the poker run, we will have a free lunch at a local establishment while tallying results.

The player that returns with the best hand wins a fabulous prize, which will be announced by the end of March..

THE START

Meet at the Food Bank, 3185 Unity Drive, Mississauga, ON L5L 4L5

Registration & Continental Breakfast: 9:00 am
Ride Starts: 10:00 am
Lunch, prizes and Party: 2:00 to 4:00 pm

Entrance Fee:

Riders and passengers are asked to each raise a minimum of $35 in tax receiptable donations to participate. Each paid participant receives a poker card, a gift bag of "goodies" and gets to enjoy the Continential Breakfst and a great lunch. Raise $50 each and you will also receive a commemorative T-shirt plus a draw prize ticket. You will earn an extra draw ticket for every additional $50 raised. The more you raise, the more opportuntiy for prizes. Tax reciepts will be issued to each of your sponsors who donates $20 or more.

Registration

1. Please Register Online so that we have an idea of how many riders we may have
2. Download a Donation form and canvas for donations. Tax reciepts will be issued for each individual donation over $20
3. On ride day, bring your completed donatsion form(s) along with your accumulated donations. Donations will be accepted by Cash, Cheque or Credit Card
4. Online Donations. If you would like to provide a method for your friends to support you via an online donataion, consider setting up your own online "Givings Page" at Canada Helps.
   • Select the option to "Create a GivingPage"
   • As a new user, select the option to Register with Canada Helps
   • You will then be able to create your Givings Page simply by answering the questions
   • When you are asked for the Charity, type in "Eden Food Bank". We are registerd already and you will see our charitable registration number.
   • Donors will automatically receive a charitable donations receipt from Canada Helps.

Video of our 2011 Ride

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our 2011 event. Together, we raised $6,000 to help the food bank purchase food and support hungry families in western Mississauga! Because the cost of the event was completely covered by our corporate sponsors, 100% of what was raised by riders and the other participants went directly to the food bank.

Congratulations to our ride winners! John Scheepers, Zoran Nosic and Gabrielle Braithwaite received Top Fundraiser prizes. The Best Hand Prize of the trip for two to Vegas went to Lesley Deller. Gabrielle Braithwaite also won the Top Raffle prize which was the 46” RCA LCD TV.
